“O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allaah), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honorable manner. And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance, and perform As-Salat, and give Zakat and obey Allah and His Messenger.” (Al-Ahzab 33:32-33)
Within these verses Allah has prohibited the wives of the Noble Prophet, the mothers of the believers-who are the best of the women and the purest of them – from being soft in speech with the men; which is to be mild and inviting in speech, in order that he in whose heart there is a disease would not be moved with desire for fornication and think that they are in agreement with him regarding that. He likewise commanded them to stay within their homes and he prohibited them from the indecency of pre-Islamic ignorance. This is to display their adornments and beauty
